Open is a strategic change and internal communications agency founded in 2003.
We are an international team based in Copenhagen and Cape Town, helping large organisations engage people, adopt new ways of working, and make sense of change with clarity, creativity and care.

Open has evolved through several major chapters.
2003–2007: The Early Days
What eventually became Open began in 2003 as a digital-first creative collective - originally known as Spektakel and later Mediestunt – originally founded by Kristina Malther, Bo Bregnholdt, Peter Braasch, Kasper Steensen, Andreas Willadsen, Thomas Bregnholt, Pitter Bacher, Karen Brücher and Marianne Weng, on the back of a university project, supported by friends and family.
Driven by grind, dedication, and a bit of luck, the founders built a reputation for creating groundbreaking interactive experiences on the internet. Early work included projects for cultural institutions, festivals, and artists, followed by the first major corporate client, Orange (Telco). This phase cemented Open as frontrunners in the intersection of design, digital, and video.
One of the founders, Kristina Malther, would later become CEO - shaping Open’s direction, and spearheading the opening of the Cape Town office.
2008–2014: Becoming IC Specialists
As the world shifted, so did we. Open transformed into a specialist internal communication partner, inventing “Strategy meets Creative” and the “Inspire – Act – Share” model. The Copenhagen team grew to 10–15 consultants and collaborated with a wide range of major Danish and global clients.
2015–2019: Expansion to Cape Town
Open took its first international leap, establishing the Cape Town office. With 20 consultants in Copenhagen and five new team members in Cape Town, we expanded our reach across both European and African markets.
2020–Today: Change at Scale
Open now operates as an agency-consultancy hybrid, combining strategic clarity, creative execution, and deep organisational understanding. We support clients with transformation, culture, digital adoption, employer branding, sustainability, and more.
