Engaging employees in a new corporatestrategy on and off shore

When Maersk Tankers launched a new strategy for the company going forward, a key success factor was communicating one clear direction and engaging all employees in shaping the future success of Maersk Tankers.

Making the new strategy a reality for everyone

To reach both office workers and crews off shore and engage them in a deeper understanding, a strategy core story was developed. The format we used to tell the story was a creative, visually-driven presentation, led by the Senior Management Team for roadshow-presentations around the world.

To transform the strategy into actions, Open provided the tools for strategy workshops initiated in Maersk Tankers headquarters in Denmark, and then replicated across the world to countries such as Singapore, Mumbai, or Manila.

Off shore, a condensed version of the strategy was produced as a video. Crews on Maersk Tanker’s vessels were on-boarded in the strategy by their captains and chief engineers, who were equipped and prepared with tools and guidelines produced by Open.

The organization reached a unified understanding of where it is going and how everyone can contribute to the future success.
